City of Belmont Museum

Welcome to City of Belmont Museum’s online catalogue

Through this portal you can access archives relating to the people and places within the City of Belmont and its suburbs past and present, including Ascot, Redcliffe, Belmont, Cloverdale, Kewdale, Newburn, Red Gum Forrest and Rivervale. Find long lost family and explore places you may have lived and played in many years ago. There is more to “Belmont” than you might first think, with a colonial history dating back to the first days of settlement and ancient and Indigenous histories stretching back centuries.

Our specialties are the influential local horse racing industries, distinctive landmarks such as the Great Eastern Highway and the kilns and the domestic and international airports which changed the face of Western Australia. Search through the stories of great family dynasties- including the Faulkners, whose members include the first female Councillor Ruth Faulkner who was integral in the development of the City’s first public library, and her son Dave Faulkner, lead singer of the legendary Australian rock band Hoodoo Gurus.

The Belmont Museum houses archives, photographs, oral histories, ephemera and artefacts of interests which can all be searched

You are always welcome to visit Belmont Museum at Elizabeth Street in Cloverdale. We are open 2-5pm Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and welcome groups, schools and other visitors by appointment

We hope you enjoy exploring Belmont Museum online!
